Bábá sings and directs kiirtana

25.02.2011

Last night I went to bed late. I woke up at the usual time but somehow felt that I hadn’t slept enough. I did a short Guru Sakasha and fell asleep again.

I dreamt I was in some sort of retreat place. It was a big house, a kind of mansion or villa, with several floors and a clearing or a yard within.

At first, not so many people were there. I went to an upper floor and arranged my place there to sleep at night. As I went back down to the lower floors, more and more people were arriving. It eventually became too crowded. A short and weak woman with blonde hair and a little child had not been able to find a place and were sitting by the cramped doorway. Seeing this, I remembered the place of one brother who had taken up quite a bit of space just for himself. Because he was not there then, I called a brother who had put his things just beside that other brother’s place and asked him to come over and take the mother with her child to that place so they would be more comfortable and safe.

But when he came to me, he started showing us a Baba photo on his digital camera. It was a photo with Baba doing kiirtana in front of a crowd of margiis, mostly Dadas. Then, the photo turned into a video clip and I could see Baba really doing kiirtana. He was singing and dancing ‘Baba Nam Kevalam! Baba Nam Kevalam!’ with the crowd of margiis, and somehow directing them. It was very strong, like when people go mad during street protests. Then, the video also appeared on a big screen that was in the hall. Eventually, it seemed like I was watching and listening to the kiirtana ‘live’, from an upper floor, looking down into the hall.

Baba was dancing and singing in front of the Dadas and was encouraging them to sing louder and louder, with more and more zeal and devotion. At times Baba had to make an effort not to fall into samadhi, and then He lowered His arms a little and used them to animate and inspire the crowd instead. But then again, He Himself became part of the kiirtana. Sometimes I could not see Baba clearly because He is short. That made me look for Him even more.

I don’t know if the mother and her little child eventually went to stay at the other place, but that had been my main concern.

After I woke up, the kiirtana melody was still in my head and I recorded it.
