Right from the start Baba gave me a little test. At the ecological festival Dadas were giving asana and meditation classes every day. There were about 40 people attending the morning, noon and evening classes each time, many of them were new, that is, different people came each time. In the end there was a list of about 150 people who wanted to learn meditation.

On that day I was a bit late but determined to attend the asana class. So, when I reached the tent, all the places were already taken and I wondered where I should stay. Eventually I found a spot and joined in with the asanas. 

After a while I discovered why that spot had been vacant. I was doing asanas right on an anthill! Since I didn’t wanted to disturb the flow of the class, I tried my best to pretend there were no ants and continued doing the asanas to the best of my capacity. I was extremely happy when the class was finally over. So, that was a little determination and surrender test that He gave me right from the start.

For some reason that list of 150 people got lost and I was the only one who remained and became a margii because I was one of the handful of people who had received initiation there and then. Dada Arjuna from Jamaica initiated me who had also been the one conducting the asana classes.
