There was a seminar going on and we were somewhere, maybe in Switzerland or at least on some very high mountain. I remember doing Guru Puja and seeing a gondola being pulled up into the blue sky. It was made up only of glass and had some sort of seat in it. Being inside it made one feel as if one were flying (in the midst of this vast blue sky that was all surrounding).
I was in an old and simple house, possibly a ‘chalet’, that had several floors. Many margiis and acaryas were there. Everyone was waiting for Baba. Then, it was announced that He would give a darshan. We all went there and waited and waited, but He didn’t come. It was announced that the darshan wouldn’t be happening now. So everyone was a bit disappointed. Nobody knew why it had been cancelled and what was going on. Everyone was wondering about Baba. Then someone went to enquire.
When he came back, he just said: “Baba wants to talk to you”, pointing at me. I was so surprised and pleasantly shocked. So I asked: “me?” and he just looked at me with an expression of “well, yes..” So without waiting any longer I went up to the top floor where He was staying and shyly said to someone that Baba had asked for me. Baba was already there somewhere and made me sit by His side. He wanted me to help Him record something. He also had a red pen (like one I’m using to correct my students’ exams!) and was making corrections to His own writings. He had a notebook and at some point He said something like “no, not like this” and threw the notebook away. It landed graciously on the place where one brother had his bags etc. for sleeping or whatever. So I thought that maybe Baba had just sent him a personal message. Then, He went on making other corrections and was saying various things into a little tape recorder, like a little speech. Then, at one point, He said (something like): “I want to say this again”, and He sat up straight and with a clear and loud voice He started uttering the eight enemies and six fetters in Sanskrit. All this was recorded into the tape player for people to learn and remember with correct pronunciation. As He went on talking, from time to time He became informal, actually all the time He was informal and so sweet, and asked me several questions. He said: “Have you ever been to India?” I answered: “Yes, twice…” He smiled gently. “I also went to Ananda Nagar.” It seemed like He was was especially happy to hear that because He loves Ananda Nagar. I said:”I want to go there again.” Baba didn’t respond with words, but His affectionate smile said everything. He was just next to me and looked into my eyes like during a normal conversation. But it was not a normal conversation. I wanted to say: “Baba, I love You.” I think He understood. After some time, He finished dictating and we had to get up and leave.
Although we had been a little apart from the other margiis, people could still hear when Baba was talking a little louder. The door had been kept open and we were just like a big family. Before leaving Him, I bowed down and touched His feet. Then, I went my way and He went His. Some margiis were looking at me with an expression of “you are such a lucky guy!” and I could not deny it. With a big smile I mentally replied “yes, but what can I do about it?” and I thought that I love Baba so much! I went down to another floor and saw Didis and Dadas talking about some serious things, but also in very informal ways. Then finally it was announced that Baba would be giving darshan. I remembered that I had forgotten the tape recorder with the tape, so I quickly went back to the top floor to the place where Baba and I had been sitting and found the recorder and also the pen with which Baba had been writing. I wanted to take the recorder but found that the tape actually belonged to another margii, so I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to check whether this was the right tape and as the loud sound came out that one hears when one starts to play while pressing the ‘play’ button, I was slowly awakened from my dream. It must have been sometime around paincajanya time.
I forgot to mention that Baba seemed very sick, His body was in a very weak condition. While He was talking, He had to pause several times because He was so much in pain (especially before He said the enemies and fetters in Sanskrit). I think He must have taken on the sam’skaras of many people, including mine.
